Notes 1. The notes say that it's believed that the letters were compoused by Louis D'amours ("Spurious letters composed by Louis Damours. Sometimes ascribed to C. P. Jolyot de Crébillon. Cf. Dict. de biog. française; BM Cat. Photolith. ed. to 1955."); 2. Philosophy of Love; 3. Both volumes (1 & 2) are here in one single book; 4. This book is dedicated to someone, a lady. The author does not refer to her by her name; 5. Some entries on WorldCat mention that the same book was published in La Haye (French for the city of Hague, Netherlands) by a different publisher (Gibert). Nevertheless, the link provided is of the book published in Amsterdam by F. Joly; 6. University of North Carolina (...) has this book with 145 pages instead of 300 as the others; 7. Google Book link provides a "peculiar" inprint dating the book to 1350. Intrestingly, the 1751 version of this book mentions that the 1750 inprint from Amsterdam (Francois Joly) was false.
