| Notes |
1. It was found at Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BnF);
2. BnF note says: "Apocryphe";
3. It seems to be a letter to "a Mademoiselle Suard", who was an author of a
"Memorandum signed: Lenoir and a Memoir again for Lady Kornmann" (I'm guessing here, at best);
4. Some passages of Lenclos question the distinction between men and women (i.e. "reason" X "elegance", pp.5-6), and how the former acts tyranically over the latter (c'est la raison du plus fort &
par conséquent la plus atroce des injustices, p.6). |
