aims to shed light on the Persian culture of Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan through the translation and representation of pre and post-Islamic poetry written by women of the region ... silkscreen and letterpress printed ... Type and imagery are inspired by the classic 'Shahnama/The Book of Kings' manuscripts"--Colophon.
A single sheet, accordion-folded into four panels, is silkscreen printed with the title in Persian and English on one side, and has four pockets attached on the other side. The first three pockets contain removable sets of two attached leaves, each letterpress printed with a poem in Persian on the left panel and an English translation on the right. The last pocket contains a single sheet letterpress printed with the colophon. Silkscreen illustrations throughout.
UW Libraries has limited edition copy 32/50. This copy lacks signature. |
