Notes |
EEBO lists this as the 2nd edition, but it is published in the same year, it has the same number of pages as the previously listed edition, and there are no notes on the title page which suggest it is a later edition. The title page from the previous entry (the 1st edition) is included in this work as well, immediately following the new title page which includes "A Farce Call'd" and "Licensed July 21. 1681. Charles Killigrew." Unsure as to if it is actually a 2nd edition, or if it is the same work with a slightly different title page. "The Cambridge Companion to English Restoration Theatre" by Deborah Payne Fisk (Cambridge UP: 2000, p. 111, Google Books) says that "The False Count was published with two different title pages, one which puts the genre first." |
