Monsier de Bonnecorse listed as the author, Behn as an "other author." "Translation by Mrs. Behn of: La montre / B. Bonnecorse" (EEBO). The work was licensed on Aug. 2, 1686 by R.L.S. There are many prefaratory letters before the work begins: Behn's dedication, "To the Admir'd Astrea" by Charles Cotton, "To the Incomparable Author" by N. Tate, "To the most Ingenious Astrea, upon her Book intituled, La Montre, or the Lover's Watch" by "Rich. Foerrar.", "To the Divine Astrea, on her Montre" by G.J., "To his admired Friend, the most in|genious Author" by Geo. Jenkins. An illustration of "Hours of the Day" follows these letters. |
